Admissions
Methodist Richardson Medical Center’s admissions department is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. After hours admission takes place through the hospital emergency room—open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Guide to Your Stay
Patient Confidentiality
Information about your condition is confidential and Methodist Richardson Medical Center will honor that confidentiality. Unless you specify otherwise, your name will be placed on our roster of hospital patients. This process allows you to receive telephone calls, cards, flowers and visitors. To maintain your privacy and confidentiality, information given to family and friends who contact the hospital will be limited to confirmation of your presence as a patient and a general statement regarding your condition such as “good,” “fair,” “stable,” etc.

At Methodist Richardson Medical Center, we are committed to outstanding service. Our entire staff strives to provide you with the very best care and service available. Because we care about the quality of services you receive at Methodist Richardson, the Guest Relations department is available to assist you with any questions, concerns or grievances you may have during your stay with us. You can reach the Guest Relations department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by dialing (972) 498-4646. After hours, dial (972) 498-4000 and ask for the Nursing Supervisor, who is available 24 hours a day.
Patient Services
Interpreters
If you don’t speak English fluently, the quality of your treatment will not be limited in any way. We have access to 140 different languages via our telephone interpreter. If these services are not acceptable, we will obtain other services to meet your specific communication needs. Other services to assist the hearing, vision and speech impaired are also available.
Chaplaincy Services
Just as our facility is committed to providing you with the best possible medical care, we also are concerned with your spiritual and emotional well-being. A chaplain is available to visit with you – to listen, pray or simply to sit with you – whatever you ask or need. We will help you work through difficult decisions you may be making, and if you prefer, contact someone from your own faith tradition. An Interfaith chapel is located on the third floor of the Hospital. You are invited to enter for prayer, meditation or quiet reflection.
Pet Therapy Visitation
For our patients who are animal lovers, certified Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs visit patients on our medical and surgical units. Visits are made on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays and the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. To ensure a visit, contact your nurse.
Television
Methodist Richardson offers televisions in our patient rooms. A basic channel lineup is offered on your television free of charge. You can purchase the entertainment package, which includes Internet access, e-mail, unlimited premium feature films and premium cable channels once you arrive in your room.
