Join more than 2,000 cyclists from across North Texas for the 7th annual WildRide! Against Cancer on May 15, 2010. The event is projected to net more than $110,000 for Methodist Richardson Cancer Center, home of the Lance Armstrong Shaped Beam Surgery™ program. For those who enjoy walking or running, the 5K Trail Walk is a non-timed, non-competitive fun run/walk that takes place on Spring Creek Trail in Richardson. Click here for route maps, schedule, and directions.
WildRide! and the 5K Trail Walk, presented by the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Foundation, are held in conjunction with the 17th annual Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival in Galatyn Park on May 14th-16th. Wildflower!, which was recently named "Best of the Fests" by D Magazine, is the area's premier arts and music festival, drawing more than 85,000 visitors featuring national headliners.
WildRide! is the only bike ride to allow riders across the long stretch of the beautiful Lavon Lake Dam, closed all other days of the year! Enjoy rolling hills and scenic byways through small North Texas towns that open their arms to this annual event.
In addition to riding, walking, or running, you can become a sponsor, volunteer, make a donation or purchase a raffle ticket.
Who Benefits
All net proceeds of WildRide! benefit the Methodist Richardson Cancer Center, home of the Lance Armstrong Shaped Beam Surgery™ program. The Cancer Center, which is affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, offers an array of diagnostic equipment, new drug therapies as a part of clinical research programs and numerous treatment options. Patients in Richardson and surrounding North Texas communities can receive comprehensive treatment close to home.
